The potential to light new fires
CPJ has been an important organization in our lives for at least 35 years. They have been helpful in getting our Christian bearings in a largely secular political setting. CPJ has been the vehicle that carries our witness into the places where the political decisions are made in Canada.
It makes good sense for CPJ to move to Ottawa. If we want to be taken seriously we need to be where the action is. And we are happy to see a good many new and younger faces down in the trenches.
We do know, however, how important it is that the activities of the organization not be hampered by a shortage of funding – a situation that can be quite discouraging. The Public Justice: Front+Centre campaign, with its move to Ottawa and a focus on younger faces, has the potential to light new fires – and we want to be part of that.
