CPJ urges Alison Redford to honour election commitment
Monday, May 28th, 2012
The Chair of CPJ’s Board, Mark Huyser-Wierenga of Edmonton, has written to Alberta Premier Alison Redford to encourage her government to move forward with development of a poverty reduction strategy for her province. CPJ applauded the recently re-elected Conservative Party’s election promise to develop a Social Policy Framework to guide Alberta’s public services. In particular, CPJ noted the commitment to eliminate children’s poverty in 5 years and to reduce poverty amongst other age groups over 10 years. Read CPJ’s letter.
