Political advocacy is one of the ways CPJ promotes public justice in Canada. Below you will find an example of a successful advocacy campaign that CPJ was involved in. It will show you by example some ways to engage in effective advocacy.
Student Loans for Refugees
Between 1997 and 2002, the Maytree Foundation, along with Citizens for Public Justice advocated persistently and successfully for access to student loans for refugees. Among the lessons learned were the importance of human stories and the need for perseverance.
